Ms. Jay West, Founder of the Queen Up Movement
Jay West is the Host of the new Miami Based Podcast on YouTube, “Queen Up Chronicles TALK 1, the show promotes Black/Minority Owned Businesses in South Florida along with discussing relationship challenges, current events and Fashion. As a consistent proponent for supporting Black and Minority own businesses she was perplexed that her friends, associates and family members were unfamiliar with the local treasures right under their noses. The restaurants she frequented, clothing stores, nail salons, Doctors offices and so much more is available to them, however, they did not know they existed or were not patronizing the locations. It made sense to Jay West that these local business owners be given a platform to formulate a solid customer base to ensure a thriving business for the long term. According to website catalyst.org, in the United States of America, “African Americans accumulative buying power is 1.4 trillion dollars.” Just imagine if these funds were returning to the communities in which we live. The goal is “Economic Unity.” It is a proven fact that without the support of the surrounding community minority businesses cannot sustain themselves. Stronger Communities, stronger businesses and stronger relationships will results in a stronger belief system. We are our own responsibility. The same way we dance in unison should be the same way we support each other’s business making for obtainable generational wealth.
